May 3, 2012 8:54 pm I agree that it is a prison but seriously what would you have the avengers do? and Gage isn't making it soft hes putting the books signature style on it its wrong and he took time to point that out but he also gave wolverine time to explain why they were doing it. Its a bad situation for everyone and I think that it was well represented from both sides
May 3, 2012 8:52 pm Yea but she doesn't have the boob window, I really dislike overly-revealing costumes because if I wanted porn, I'd watch porn.
May 2, 2012 6:20 pm wanted to say that I believe I may have gushed a little big too much and may bring down my grade to a 4/4.5 but I stand by what I said, it seems this book is polarizing as hell for people
May 2, 2012 6:20 pm I disagree I felt like Cap is actually being reasonable. I'm the biggest X-fan you can find but I tend to agree with what Cap's doing and taking the kids to avengers academy seems to be the best. Though right now I sympathize most with Wolverine I think the X-men in general at least the Utopia side are being made out as extremists and villains which would be a interresting arc if some of though *cough*cyclops*cough* were becoming extremists but others were against their....zealous leader. But no its sheep with sheapard when it comes to cyclops and his team. I hope that AvX gets better as it slowly is but I think its a bad situation for everyone but Cap is relatively reasonable as he really does want to save Hope from the Phoenix his top priority is stopping the phoenix without hurting hope which is what it should be, But thats neither here nor there when talking about Avengers Academy lol
May 2, 2012 5:04 pm Great review, though I disgree with you on the art. I prefer Marco Rudy but I like having both because of his faces but I gotta say that I love yannick paquette's layouts and I seriously disgree that the layouts are anything but amazing. Though at the same time unless its done for a reason like Watchmen was, I dislike the Grid so I guess I'm also a special case. So we will agree to disagree on the art becuase I also realize that this book I fan-boy over a bit and its also RIGHT up my ally which is admittedly a narrow one. I will totally agree on the story though it was alot of buildup to a almost impossible climax and I figured the Rot would go on for at least through the animal man crossover. My main issue was the Abby stuff and how her fall to the rot is reversed by LITERALLY flower power. I like the design but I dislike that it only took one issue for her to come back to being herself. I felt a emotional blow like I was supposed too when she didn't remember alec and when she was out to kill him and the next issue, yea that emotional drama and the idea of lovers pitted against each other and fated to never be together.....yea lets throw that out because ABBY'S COVERED IN ONLY FLOWERS!!!!! so I agree with the review only I reverse the story and art scores nice review and nice thoughts, cheers
May 2, 2012 4:50 pm I was about to write a review but yea you basically summed it up. I was the same way really excited for Dial H but I was expecting more horror but the art was great, maybe not a 5 but a 4 easily in my book, The book just isn't what I'm looking for, its a dark book but I wanted something much more sinister than what we got. Loved the review
May 2, 2012 2:13 pm well holy hell did you get what you want in this issue. and it was AWESOME
April 18, 2012 1:36 pm thanks so much for the comment. and I agree, I just love how Tomasi writes and I really feel for bruce and damien.
March 29, 2012 11:47 pm I love these and it makes me wanna pick up avenging spider-man but man, I was really hoping for some I, Vampire love because theres a two page spread in the issue that looks like a woodcut and I sat in awe of it when I saw it
March 22, 2012 11:35 am ok time for me to act like a misty eyed old man. Comics to me was alot of how i got through the last year. I very recently got into actively reading but I grew up on the animated series of all of the big named capes. I jumped on with the 52 along with a friend and basically lived on the wiki's of DC and Marvel learning alot of the continuity. So i got up to university for the first time and i hated it. None of my friends came up to the college I go to and I didn't have much anyone to talk to. One day I was walking to a event with a acquaintance and his roomate was with us to. His roomate and me started talking about batman and comics in general and just started really getting along and since then hes been one of the few friends I've had up here. So then I had to find a comic store and a great one up here is a mom & pop owned store and the owners are some of the nicest people you wanna meet. While i quickly fell out of some of the books I read and as always my favorite stuff is the Horror Genre books no matter what I loved the community. comics made me friends when I didn't have many and this weekend I'm goin to a con for the first time in my life and I just hope for some nice conversations with people that share the same interests. I dunno about you guys but as much as Jeff Lemire wows me every week, and Scott Snyder continues to be disgustingly good, and no matter how many times I have a jaw dropping moment flipping a page in batwoman, I just come back to how much of a great community comics is. As much as we can bitch when a book is bad its all for the love of the medium and for this great community that I'm proud to call myself a part of. P.S. also lots of trades look AMAZING on a bookshelf in my dorm, JUST SAYIN
