October 2, 2011 2:18 pm Outside of the normal browsing I do online, it appears to me that DC has not done much to advertise. We'll see, but if anything this relaunch is more of a deep breath for comic book fans, a chance to cleanse the palette, and reboot the superhero archetype in order to give it more relevance moving forward. I, for one, have been loving the reboot so far. The characters seem fresh, they are taking new and strange chances with the types of stories they are putting forward, and all of it feels more like a reflection of our times. Gays and puritans alike may have been irked that Batman finally got laid by a woman, but I for one was giddy when I read it. Batman has been chasing psychos for years, and went through a very dark period in his life, and has been due for some hanky panky for some time! And with Catwoman nonetheless, good for him! I disagree with this article, and the perspective of any writer who puts forward in such black and white terms their opinion of the stories that others have spent a lot of time and effort into creating. I have read a few of the issues that Josh didnt like, and I found them quite good. If you are going to have such a "this or that" opinion of comic books, I'd like to see you do better. If not, then I suggest you be clear that this is YOUR opinion, because its people like you, who criticize that turns off new readers to comic books when they come to places like this looking for advice on what to read. I have been following iFanboy for some time now, and have found that a few times I have ignored a book because someone called it trash, only to find later that I actually enjoyed it. Comic book sites like this need to rethink how they do reviews, because you turn people off to new books by taking such a "my way or the highway" attitude in your critiques. You are the gatekeepers, yo, YOU are the ones who are scaring off new readers. Consider that.
September 22, 2011 3:23 am I dug it. It was sexy, and it gave a good sense of where Bruce is as a character now. We've always known that hes a big playa, and now he's proven it by givin it good to superhero-doms sexiest woman. Good on ya, Bats.
September 19, 2011 6:36 pm Yeah man, you gotta learn to separate real life from comics. If what you suggest really happened we would have no comics to read, and your comment would be unnecessary, get it?
August 23, 2011 4:17 pm Grant Morrison, off the bench, up at bat. He rushes the pitcher and takes a swing.

July 21, 2011 5:55 pm Clark Kent takes on JC for the true title of Superman, heh.
July 19, 2011 3:29 pm I think its time for the fanboys to grow up. At this point I think we can agree that our heroes always come in different incarnations, and expecting something to be EXACTLY like anything that came before is just asking for disappointment.

That said, we all know this was based on USM which was always darker than OG Spidey. This Spiderman seems like a much more accurate portrayal of our modern times, which can be fairly dark.

THAT said, it might also look dark because the camera is really dark (duh). Instead of dark, I would say that this looks more realistic.

If you ask me, just based on what we've seen in this trailer, we might expect a Spiderman that is more story driven, and less character driven like the Raimi films (which were rather weak storywise if you ask me, though still enjoyable). Seems like this film is being planned with more foresight than the others, and I'm sure we will see some cool plot threads laid out in the first.

December 7, 2010 12:31 pm @JMann I just read through Amazing on disc and I dont think Gwen and Mary Jane look too different on page aside from the hair. They seemed to knock it out of the park with Emma as Gwen and I find Garfield to look a lot like a real life Peter Parker (once he bulks up I assume he'll look even better) so it would be interesting to see who they go with if they bring MJ in at some point.
