It was a decent enough one-shot issue, but…were we supposed to be surprised that they were inside a human body?…

Some excellent comics coming in this week, espicially now that we’re getting more into the story of each one. So…

May 21, 2012 10:30 pm Ron--on the Flash vs. Phoenix thing--The Phoenix can manipulate time. In Morrison's last arc, Jean uses the Phoenix Force to convince Scott to stay with the X-Men, stopping a horrific alternate future to come to pass.
May 21, 2012 10:27 pm I think what it did best was fix a lot of the plot holes in the original, key being how they catch The Kingpin at the end. Even as the Director's Cut, it's not my favorite, but I like it more than stuff like the Spider-Man movies.
April 10, 2012 6:11 pm Except both of them were true in the past and are perfectly valid interpretations of the character (Superman during his first year or two of the Golden Age, Batman during the Silver Age/60s show, even Morrison's run to a certain extent).
March 30, 2012 11:39 am Funny thing is, I would say that the first full-page spread with Hawk leaping towards the swords below him is a rather cool image and maybe it's because I'm looking at this with morning eyes, but I don't see any major issues. It all kinda goes downhill in the second page where in the last panel we see Hawk getting stabbed through the chest but in the double page spread he's jumping over the ninja guys without any sort of progression and kicking dirt on the shoes of sequential storytelling.
March 22, 2012 12:34 pm Especially since, from what I've read, it sounds like manga's taken an even steeper recline than American comics. That being said, I don't have a problem with checking out manga at all--I recently tried out One Piece at my local library, even though I ended up being more annoyed by it than anything.

March 16, 2012 7:32 pm I've been enjoying the series as well--not as refined as the Brubaker run, but has it's own insane charm to it. Melo does a decent job fitting her art style with things while still making it feel a bit her own. I'm also looking forward to this issue in general--I really can't think of any other story where Selina's done this and it is kind-of in her wheelpark--and like the iFanboy team's mentioned a few times, it's rare and fun to see car chases in comics. Also, can I just say thanks so much for having the little window slideshow come up with your previews now? I don't know if this is the first time you guys started doing it or if I just now noticed it, but the past times where I had to click through two different pages to get the full page was a bit of a pain, and I like that you guys went around that. :)
January 23, 2012 1:24 pm Honestly, I think at least the current Supergirl book would fit pretty well for a younger reader. Maybe not FOUR years-old, but a year or two from now, sure. Batgirl would be a little older than that, with the first sequence in the first issue and the panel showing a pivotal moment from The Killing Joke. Wonder Woman...yeah, that's more for the teens, probably. Also, they are going to be doing those Super Best Friends Forever thing with most of the three characters (I think they might be doing Wonder Girl instead of Wonder Woman), so I'm sure they're going to have merchandise for that along with the shorts.
December 27, 2011 12:10 pm Question--I've been getting my comics digitally, so does that mean that it might come out on Thursday instead of Wednesday?
November 28, 2011 11:38 am Remember that in the first season, Dale caught Shane briefly pointing his gun to Rick's back, presumably so he can get Lori back. There might be a little bit of jealousy on Dale's part over Andrea briefly riding him like a pony, but Dale knows that Shane is genuinely not a very nice guy at all.
