January 3, 2012 2:46 pm Same here, except for those stupid boots. I dont know, I imagine Clark being a converse all star(red ones of course) kind of guy as opposed to the boots. Yeah yeah he grew up on a farm but it just doesnt sit right with me.
December 29, 2011 7:06 pm I hope the reason is that Paul Cornell is going to be put on a bigger DC title, and not because of some sort of creative disagreement or whatever. While people seem to like Stormwatch and Demon Knights, I really got the feeling that Cornell was not being used to his full potential in this new DC relaunch.
November 30, 2011 5:26 pm After I read and absolutely loved Superman Red Son I just knew I had to check out Mark Millars run of Superman Adventures and man oh man those were some really fun comics, say what you will about Millar but if theres one thing he can do, its definitely writing some good Superman stories. And while I have a few Batman Adventures issues here and there, I guess I never paid as much attention to them as I should have since they were always solid fun stories.
November 11, 2011 6:11 pm Yep, positive feedback may boost your ego, but it will never teach you anything. Criticism is definitely the best ingredient for improvement. A lot of people may not want to hear that, but youve gotta have thick skin. Last year I went to Comic con and got a very positive portfolio review from an artist I admire so I felt that maybe I;m ready, but it wasnt until this year that I talked to other artists that pointed out some things that were wrong with my work that I realized all the things where I needed to improve on, and in the last few months after being very conscious of those criticisms I feel like I have grown and 'm doing my best work yet.
November 9, 2011 5:12 pm Dude, you're giving Goyer way too much credit. Yeah he wrote Blade 1 and 2 which were fun films, but were they well written? NO WAY. Also, dont forget he also wrote(and even directed) Blade 3. And he gets too much credit for Nolans Batman films, he co wrote the screenplay for Batman Begins(which is a solid but not great film) but only helped with the initial treatment of Dark Knight, not the actual script. I'm excited for this movie, Snyder gets a lot of undeserving shit but the dude is talented, he'll definitely deliver an amazingly beautiful looking film that will more than likely some some of the most kick ass action scenes we've ever seen. And I have no doubt about the cast, they're all pros at what they do. Again, its Goyers script that I'm worried about, because even the best acting and visual eye candy can't save a bad script.
October 16, 2011 6:29 pm Looks awesome, but who are they kidding, this has absolutely NOTHING to do with the story Towel of Babel. Wheres Kyle Rayner? Or Ra's Al Ghul? instead its a story with the Legion of doom and the royal flush gang. Still, the cast is awesome and its got Vandal Savage who is always great.
October 13, 2011 3:57 pm I really miss Brubakers DC days since he did so many creator owned series back then. Yeah I realize it was probably because he wasnt able to get bigger projects, but I really wish he would do more of his own comics now since Criminal is taking yet another break and its going to be a while before his new book with Sean Phillips is released.
October 10, 2011 9:05 pm Good god I cant stand Michelle Rodriguez in anything, I like the rest of the cast especially Terence Stamp, but i'd skip the show if she played Dizzy
October 9, 2011 6:13 pm I think what needs to be done with Action Comics is to follow the Batman & Robin formula by having rotating artists, that way you can get some of the most talented artists to draw Superman, without having to worry about them meeting a monthly deadly for too long.
October 5, 2011 6:58 pm I'm pretty sure Millar would write Superman even if DC said they couldn't pay him anything, he just loves the character. And I don't see why Morrison and Millar have to be besties to work on the same character, Morrison has said he has no clue what Perez is doing on Superman so its obvious that they are giving each writer their own space.
