This is the most Vertigo-y title released by Vertigo in a while – very small seeds planted in early issues…

May 23, 2012 3:04 pm Given the great job they did with Year One (possibly my favourite DC animated movie!) I'm very much looking forward to this. Been loving all of them recently, can't even remember the last bad one.
May 8, 2012 1:33 pm I've definitely wanted to read more classic Avengers since seeing the film (I haven't read many superhero comics for the past couple of years, really.) Admittedly I'm already a comics fan, but that felt like an achievement to me. I'd be interested to see if it fully converted anyone.
May 7, 2012 10:31 am I never knew it was actually visible in Thor until now, that's pretty cool. I found a screengrab for anyone interested: http://www.complex.com/pop-culture/2012/05/the-10-best-easter-eggs-in-marvel-movies/the-infinity-gauntlet-in-thor
May 7, 2012 9:47 am It's true that any realistic boundaries (if any exist) haven't been set up, but that's not important - bringing the character back would dampen the impact of his death in this movie, and Whedon probably wouldn't be interested in that - he is known for killing off characters, I believe he does this to prove there are stakes, which don't exist in a world where anyone can come back. We complain about this stuff all the time in comics, and I for one wouldn't want it in these films.
May 5, 2012 2:51 am I was listening to Kevin Feige on the Empire podcast recently and he said it was Marvel's idea to kill off Coulson, not Whedon's. He said they brought the idea to Whedon and Whedon said "You know they're gonna blame me for this, right?" Not sure I 100% believe it, but it's funny anyway. Genuine gasps at his stabbing in Avengers both times I saw it, something I've rarely experienced. Can't blame them, it's a heartbreaking scene.
May 4, 2012 10:30 am I'd think it's more that it's a pretty obvious choice - I certainly predicted he'd show up in the post-credits scene before I even went in. Not that it wasn't still great to see!
May 4, 2012 4:19 am Absolutely one of my favourite moments. Totally a shocker but completely makes sense for the character.
May 4, 2012 4:17 am I *think* at one point they refer to the cellist as a she (they mention them three times I believe). I could be wrong though.
May 3, 2012 4:46 am I'd say the heroes at odds stuff was tired for comic books, but new for the movies (a couple of the fights, I won't spoil what they are for people, are so great.) I do agree a couple of the main people were a little short-changed, although they got the odd cool moment. I hear a lot of the deleted stuff it to do with Cap adjusting to the world around him, which I'm very interested in seeing.
