CaptainSweatpants

Name: michael moore

Bio: I have been reading comics since 1972. I am a fan of the traditional capes and tights type heroes. I am also a huge fan of the pulps and classic Sci-Fi & Fantasy. I came out of the time of things like Phillip Jose Farmer's "biographies" of Tarzan and Doc Savage, his "Weird Heroes" anthologies, Steranko's "Red Tide" GN which were rooted heavily in the pulps.  Englehart, Gerber, Moench, Claremont, Wolfman and others were expanding comics with titles like Man-Thing, Master of Kung-Fu, Tomb of  Dracula, Deathlok and X-Men. It was a great time to be a fan.

June 1, 2011 9:26 pm I like the main series as well as the minis. The new takes IMO are just more interesting than the status-quo. Since I have dropped almost all my DC books I will be getting the bulk of this. I mean seriously, how can you resist "Creature Commandoes" and a Amazon vs. Atlantis bunkhouse brawl? This stuff is like the first breath you take topside after being in a sub where everyone is farting.
May 29, 2011 10:03 pm I had to comment. Magnus is, by far, the best of the "Gold Key" titles IMO. Jim Shooter gave this book a retro, campy spin and the art was a perfect fit. I had a feeling it would be a huge miss as far as the clever jaded Morrisoney types but I enjoyed it.
As a whole I guess the "Gold Key" thing was a bust but these 4 issues were pure fun.
May 18, 2011 5:56 pm I too am sick of the FF tie-in. But ASM is still good and this issue has me rethinking Avengers Academy. Since #15 is a good jump on point I am jumping.
April 28, 2011 11:09 pm As a fan of Superman who lives just across the river from Metropolis IL, "The Home of Superman" I have to say this. Goyer and DC achieved the lowest point in the least pages I have ever seen in comics.
April 8, 2011 5:27 pm Giffen has at least put all DP continuity into a capsule now. I hope the team shows up somewhere after this series ends.  Taken as a whole this series IMO is good, it just needs to be read as one BIG story.
March 4, 2011 10:25 pm Azzarello screwd the pooch with the "Neo Noir" stuff. Would have been far better with a true 30's setting. This was a good premise that got over hyped and then had it's flame pissed on.
DC should give all the properties to Dynamite so they can get a little justice.
February 8, 2011 9:53 pm This was one of the best single issue comics ever, Yes, that good.
February 8, 2011 9:51 pm Jiminez and a $2.99 price point led me to add Adventure to my sub list. The preview was stunning and the LOSH Annual showed Levitz as being on his game. Looking forward to this.
    January 28, 2011 4:20 pm Exactly!
January 10, 2011 7:35 pm I would love to see a new Defenders title done by this team. Plenty of funny and still smart. This has been one of the best buys I have made in quite some time.
