August 2, 2012 2:00 pm Like RobotZombie, I really liked the 90s run. (I still have almost the whole run in decent condition.) The believability gets a bit strained when they start re-hashing popular 90s characters (Punisher, Ghost Rider, etc), but was fun when I was young. That said, I've been confused with the new crew full of anthropomorphized trees and raccoons. This article was really helpful. Thanks!

May 11, 2011 11:11 am I'm with @kidCharlemagne. I thought everything about it was (generously) a "meh."

The costumes were rigid, the CGI way over the top and the acting was (with Hopkins as the exception, natch) really, really canned.

Now that said, I think they did a lot with the source material. I thought it would be a huge bomb and it was not that. So props for introducing one of the riskier Avengers in a decent, popcorn-y kinda way.

But really? All of this lauding of the movie is confusing to me. I WANT to like it - tell me where I'm wrong!

Dude, I hear that.

I have a successful business blog and recently decided to keep working on that while starting a graphic novel review site for grown ups. And every time I start writing or look at the traffic stats and the fear starts to creep in.

At the very least, it's nice to hear from another creative person that you go through the same thing.
