Azzarello’s retelling of the Amazons shocked me. A great modern (or ancient) take on the Amazons and their attitudes toward…

March 22, 2012 8:58 am I did Wondercon last year but didn't make it this time. It's a long way from the East Coast. I'm going to Emerald City for the first time, so I'm getting my Con travel miles in.
March 22, 2012 8:55 am I still like the new direction of the Justice League and Geoff Johns's writing, but I'm getting very tired of every comic having a drawn-out 6 issue story arc. My feeling is that I don't want to collect everything in trade, and longer stories turn off readers because they're harder to follow and expensive. Single issue stories, like this one, can be funny, exciting, and entertaining. That being said, I laughed out loud at Batman's comments about the JLI - they are a pale shadow of the JL, both in art and writing. And the Shazam backup was great - 5 art, 5 writing.
November 11, 2011 11:03 am Great stuff. Nice to feature Chris Giarusso's G-Man - those books are awesome!
October 14, 2011 7:11 pm I read Daredevil from his days in San Francisco with Black Widow up to Frank Miller and beyond, and the person who got me to drop that title was... Ann Nocenti. With her cutesy and horrific Wildboyz, Ultron (WTF) fight, Typhoid Mary - worst villain ever, and awful DD trip to hell, these issues sit in a box not because I'll reread them some day but as a lesson when to give up on a title instead of clinging to a beloved character being poorly written. Wait, that sounds a lot like Green Arrow.
July 28, 2011 4:52 pm This series started out weak but has gotten a lot better. The time travel with the future creating the past was one of the best of features of the original Next Men. Keep going, Byrne!
July 11, 2011 6:08 pm I unpicked because of the Fear Itself tie-in.  I'm dropping Marvel books left and right between the $3.99 and pointless events.  I hope DC's reboot gets both companies to step up their game.
June 15, 2011 2:38 pm Read it in the store and put it back. I'm done with Fear Itself and all $4 Marvel books. When Bendis says the price doesn't hurt sales, he's wrong. I've dropped all Avengers, Spider-Man, etc. because I'm sick of the cost.
June 14, 2011 11:22 pm I hate that they're doing an event book for the second issue. This is not a smart move if you want to keep readers.
June 12, 2011 11:00 am I don't have as much of an issue with the art - very readable. And the story was one of the best in Flashpoint so far!
June 6, 2011 3:45 am The dialogue kept pulling me out of the story. And I didnt love Maleev's art. Despite Bendis's many interviews where he said the $3.99 price point doesn't lose readers, I dropped all Avengers books, didn't pick up any Fear Itself, and read this book in the store and happily put it back on the shelf. I'm voting with my wallet and holding the line!
