May 25, 2012 2:19 pm I thought it was pretty good. Like Rusty said, the art got sloppy in places but the story was good. I always liked the idea of a government PR superhero team. @ Zhurrie If you despise Liefeld, why did you buy the book? So you could post some pithy little comment on here? It wasn't that bad at all.
May 24, 2012 11:21 pm I've always felt like Dan Jurgens is the most average comics writer of all time.
May 23, 2012 11:56 pm Look at Psylocke dressed like a slut. No class!
May 23, 2012 11:55 pm I know that people have likened being a mutant to any number of minority situations, but I have never felt personally that what the X-Men face is like what homosexuals face. Being a mutant is like being a "cool" outsider. Being gay is sometimes treated liked being a sinful, horrible outsider. I'm sure there are plenty of people who think the X-Men are bad ass that also hate gays. Homosexuality seems to have an extra amount of hate that race and gender don't bring about.
May 23, 2012 10:02 pm I read last issue and the narrative was all over the place, just like you said happened with this issue. I agree totally with your sentiments - they didn't build to this marriage with a quality story, it's just a slapdash "event" to get sales. I think the institution of marriage, gay AND straight, deserves better.
May 23, 2012 9:58 pm I was planning on getting all the Night of Owls books but this sounds like a waste. Disappointing, but thanks for letting us know!
May 23, 2012 2:18 pm Nothing about this book has grabbed me, either, and I really wanted it to.
May 23, 2012 12:43 am Maybe that issue will be coming sooner than you think. It would be great to have a book that promoted basic human kindness. Hopefully some of our creators will find that story within them (but not some preachy Judd Winnick book). And Northstar is a little weak. His only defining traits seem to be that he's gay and has a crazy sister. It feels like a lot of writers don't know what to do with him. Shoving him into a gay marriage doesn't seem like a natural step. I'd rather see a marriage between Shatterstar and Richtor (if only to watch Rob Liefeld's head explode). Or an asexual marriage, when Doop marries itself!
