November 10, 2011 5:39 am Am I reading too much into this or are they hinting around the idea in this book that Deathstroke was a member of Team 7? That would make so much sense I'd love it. Rose and the first Ravager then become Gen13 by default due to inheriting from the experiments done to their father.
November 9, 2011 9:56 am As I recall, Marvel doubled all retailers orders without asking them or charging extra. Which have caused some retailers a bit of a problem storage-wise. Halving the price makes sense in that event.
October 19, 2011 2:03 pm As I understand it, it's not a 6 week shipping cycle. Jim Lee has stated quite a few times that JL is a third week book that they shipped early in the first month to make it the first book out. Lee's been working on this for months in secret and I'd be surprised if there weren't already 5 or 6 issues in the can.
July 8, 2011 2:39 pm Just as an FYI, the guy in Project Superman is getting his powers from Doomsday, aka Project 6.  You need to have read the Booster issues to understand that, though.  It should have been made clearer in this issue on it's own.  Once you see that the story clicks a bit better.

April 11, 2011 7:27 pm Is Marvel being purposefully vague about everything it puts out from now on?

I'm still not sure what Fear Itself is about even after the first issue has been released.  Their pitches now just sound like "There'll be a thing and it'll be really important.  Now give us money"

I give it 13 months.
January 14, 2011 4:30 am I loved the first 12 issues of Planetary.  I think they're about as perfect as comics can get.

Unfortunately, when Ellis started phoning it in the writing went downhill fast.  I got a real air of resentment from him in the last few issues as he sped through plot points with none of the interesting pacing and examination of the first run in an effort to get the monkey off his back.

Mind you, I was there from the beginning and had a healthy dose of resentment built in for the disrespect shown to the readers as we waited to see what happened and had promises continually broken.

I'd still recommend it to readers, though.  The standalone stories are wonderful, beautiful things even if I feel the arc falls kind of flat.

Looks like fun.  My only quibbles are Blake Lively's delivery on that piece of exposition was extraordinarily wooden.  I've not seen her in anything else, but I've never heard anything bad about her acting skills.  Surely there was another take?  And they seem to be following the Transformers movies by overly complicating CG effects while quick cutting around them.  Which makes it difficult (for me at least) to get a read on what I'm supposed to have just seen.   It's a trailer though, and I'm not going to take that as a guide for the look/pace of the film.

The space/alien stuff looked very nice.  And while Reynolds isn't going to win any awards, I find him really enjoyable in everything he's in.  He must be holding a record for the number of comic characters played now, surely?
