June 16, 2013 2:32 pm I wholeheartedly agree with Paul. I felt this movie needed a lot more character development and a lot less CGI. The lack of chemistry between Lois and Clark was painful. I left the movie feeling like I may have heard Henry Cavill speak 5 lines. Also, it felt like a lot of the movie was left on the cutting room floor. I'm guessing they needed more skyscrapers crashing so they cut all those talking bits out.
January 21, 2013 6:11 pm End of an Era!!! I guess this means less X-Men books for Pick of the Week.
October 18, 2012 6:39 pm This is one of those rare times when you can call something an 'experience' and it is totally true. This box of story is incredible, regardless of where you start reading and where you end. Just truly amazing. I recommend anyone who enjoys the comic form to get it. Its worth three times the price.
April 26, 2010 5:39 pm 'Would you see Ghost Rider 2, even without Nicolas Cage?" I didn't see the 1st Ghost Rider. No plans to see the second, especially if its a hastily made 'grind out a POS so we can keep the rights' sequel. Yay for capitilistic entertainment, the most wonderful mediocrity in the world!!!
January 21, 2010 7:37 pm Wow, I literally just got finished listening to Ron Richard's pick from last weeks podcast and was thinking of picking this up. Guess not!
January 15, 2010 10:18 pm I'd like the Avengers to go away for awhile. And Siege. And any other big event. Why don't we give a few of the various Avengers their own books, kill some off in limited series, have some retire or something and then start fresh with a new Avengers title or two? Or we could have an entire 37 event book run in the Savage land. Yes!

So, when Archie flies headfirst through his jalopy's windshield and dies from severe head injuries, does the hospital just take away some of his flowers and hearts?

I hope when Jughead and Reggie turn on each other and then ask you to put the other one down that after you put Reggie down like a rabid dog with two in the skull, you get to keep Reggie's phat safehouse. You know Jughead has to live in some shithole.

I wish Starbuck had stayed dead. Crazy painter Starbuck and the Doubting Thomas crew is just unbearably boring. They took 2 episodes just to get to "It's a mutiny!"? we've seen this coming from the moment she started scribbling in her notebook. Loeben was more interesting when he was being killed repeatedly.

I do like Baltar and liked the arc his character has taken. If any of the characters on BSG have changed in a major way, I think it is him. He's been central to the story since the first episode and I'll miss him when the series is over.

Roslin annoys me. Adama Sr is awesome, Adama Jr not. Boomer has become boring since they accepted her as a friendly Cylon while Helo has remained good, although the whole Boy Scout Poster Boy thing may wear out soon.

So , my final tally at the end of this episode

Characters I hope reach earth:

Baltar, Col Tigh, Galen, Helo, Adama Sr., that lawyer guy, Six, the floating dead corpse of Callie, that sludgey guy in the mucktub from Razor, Al from Quantam Leap, A constantly replaying clip of Billy being shot in the bar.

Push button and out the airlock:

Roslin, Starbuck, Boomer, all the nameless pilots/space mechanics who we're supposed to feel sad about when they're blown up, all babies on board including the hybrids, Gaeta, the Cylon that looks like a gameshow host, Anastacia Dualla, the rest of humanity, especially the press.

 GAME OVER!

Comics - Looking forward to Batman 675 and Checkmate 25.

Best part of the weekend: Complaining to Ron that the X-men killed my love for comics back in the day.

Best moment of the Con: when a sad costumed Spawn with eyes that were obviously cut wrong tried to half-heartedly make his way through the crowd, muttering in a dejected way ' excuse me, I..I just need to get by, ummm, excuse me..."

Just a truly perfect moment.

I will be at both the Con and the get together if my 98 Camry makes the trek, got my 3-day so I'm all set there. Also, thanks to Marbles for pointing out the Dan Dare session as I'll be there even if the iFanboy crew isn't.
