March 26, 2009 9:54 am I always thought a DVD movie done CGI in the style of JL opening credits would look pretty cool...it was quite ironic how the Timmverse seemed to have a better handle on how to approach characters that were being used in the DCU than how they were being used in the comics themselves...Oh my vote for an up coming DVD movie would be New Gods...I loved the Mister Miracle episode!
March 19, 2009 7:20 am I'd have to go for Animal man, if ever there was a character Morrison needed to revisit in a mini its this one...the Creeper, The Question (not the all new all female version), Jim Gordon (has a young Jim story ever been done? not Batman year 1 young...in his 20's young), and Metamorpho i always thought deserved a decent modern take on the character.
March 12, 2009 9:42 am For all you Davis fans out there, he's the subject of Two Morrows great series of books Modern Masters in the very near future...they're a great set of books, I can't recommend them enough!
March 12, 2009 9:39 am Hulk fact: According to Stan Lee...the Hulk was always meant to be red, the only reason he's green is down to the fact that the printer said he had a good vibrant consistant green!
March 12, 2009 9:33 am I have to agree with everything just said...i read the trade in one short sitting and loved it! Great art, funny, fast moving storytelling, the scene with the Watcher actually made me laugh out loud. Now to be fair i haven't read the Hulk on a regular basis since the days of Peter David, so i really don't know what happened in the big storylines of the last couple of years...and the fact that recent continuity has been for the the large part ignored by the book is what seems to be getting most peoples backs up...but you know what...I like it!...there i said it...it's a fun, dumb (in a smart way!), and very entertaining, in fact it's everything i love about mainstream Marvel titles. I think the Hulk is one of the most difficult titles to write for on a monthly basis, much like Superman...a great character of course, but where do you go with it month in month out without it becoming very boring very quickly, the Hulk as a title has had a rocky road since day one for just this reason...anyway the point i'm making is if you don't like it....well don't read it, i didn't really care for Bruce Jones' run on the title...so you know what...i didn't buy it! and as far as continuity goes...in the words of Alan Moore "This is an imaginary story...but then again aren't they all"
March 7, 2009 6:01 am Also checkout "Saturday morning Watchmen" on youtube....i very nearly pissed myself laughing!
March 7, 2009 5:56 am I've loved anything Bruce Timm's been involved with...heres an interesting aside, i read an interview with Timm where he said he much more into marvel than dc...in fact he wasnt even a Batman fan when he started on the cartoon, he also pitched a Kirby influenced FF cartoon to marvel...which they turned down!...oh the humanity! I'd love to see him do a straight to dvd New Gods movie. Heres a couple of cartoons not comic related but absolute gems...Reboot, Shadow Raiders (although it might be known as War Planets in the States), new Captain Scarlett...but my altime childhood favourite has to be Ulysses31!...A classic!
March 3, 2009 6:32 am $3.99...ok im done, i wonder how many regular titles will cost this much by the end of the year???
March 3, 2009 6:19 am Have to agree with most of the comments...its been ok...not great, I've bought the first two and there's only one issue left. I can't say i've really noticed what Kevin's take on Batman actually is as a character, he seemed to have much more to say with Green Arrow, Daredevil...even Spidey! The only thing thats registered with me is the curious and somewhat jarring throwaway adult gags in what seems like a very light read....the Joker offering his ass...ummm...ok
February 24, 2009 4:52 am Am i the only one that thinks this is just a little...meh!
