How here is a title that I see great potential for.

As far as I can tell the story takes place in a very cartoon-ish world after a event has happened causing the dead the rise; every dead person in history that is. Hoo Hum, right?

From the first issue I get the impression that the dead have no evil intentions and just want do what come nature to them… weather that be an extension of their personal life, the historic period they died in or inner their inner most being. So there’s the point of the story. Zombies from the swinging 20s could show up or even zombies from the Neolithic; there was even discussion about Zombie Jesus coming back (that would scare the pants off my Irish grand parents)

Into the fray comes our hero, Karl. He is a geeky self-styled Indiana Jones of the undead with acne and draped in the crocodile-toothed hat and safari suit of…. a South African big game hunter from 1973? Karl’s bickering sidekick is his sister and to my knowledge they’re only mission is preform acts involving zombies no else wants to do. Despite the childish pretext on the story both character’s have a darker side. It is heavier implied that Karl has had relations with zombies while his teenaged sister also seems too sexually experienced.

The real strength of the issue is in Guy Davis’ art. He has the ability to convey character though stylised design and depicts the settings, prop and environments of the story extremely well. However the art does suffer in comparison to B.P.R.D. where Dave Stewart pastel colour bring out the best in Davis.

Here’s to a great new series

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good
