Hey buster, do you get your jollies from snazzy dated lingo where skirts and Jacks where fish eyed dames act tough in three tone panels before yakking their lunch when the menfolk aren’t around?  Well, buddy, I got some funny papers for you!

To me, the dialog in the book felt pretty much as forced as the previous paragraph.  It’s not awful, it just felt more sitlted homage than flowing dialog.  The dotty art noir style isn’t really my thing, but as far as dotty art noir goes, Kevin Golden has skills.

I won’t be following this series because it’s not really my thing.  But if you’re in the mood for a slightly silly supernatural noir with a stuffy British guy with a monocle, a hard as nails female reporter just trying to make it in a man’s world, and a skeptical doctor who will likely either come around or be killed by Jack The Ripper(?), then dig your mitts into this.

Story: 3 - Good
