I stopped reading most X-books a while back.  Because I am weak willed, I picked up the Kitty Pryde issue, and the X-23 one shot, and theought they were pretty ok.  Thus, I bit my lipe in anticipation tonight, and picked up X-Men Second Coming.

My goal was to have decided by the end of the issue whether or not I was going to continue my time away from the X-family, or whether I should dive right in.

The potential for this issue to be good was amazing.  I love Kyle & Yost’s X-work, and I was a fan of Messiah Complex.

Finch proved that he is a master of drawing lines all over things.   Apparently, the X-Gene not only sketches up your face, but also your costume, if you’re a guy.  Girl mutants are lucky, and remain smooth faced, and innocent looking.  And the colors…wow, they’re so….dark.

In the end, this issue totally helped me decide whether or not to get back on the X-train, and I’m very excited for what I’m going to do with all that extra time.
