I only picked this issue up because I was excited to see that it wasn’t about vampires (though, I’m not sure Skrulls are better). Sadly, it turns out that it isn’t the vampire angle that I dislike, it’s Gischler’s writing.

I also really don’t think Pixie is interesting enough to carry a full issue. She’s no Kitty Pride, and the Skrulls never seem as competent a threat as Claremont’s version of The Brood.

What we have is the story of a bunch of aliens who speak their every thought in order to let you, the reader (and Pixie) know exactly their every intention. Even throwing Spider-Man and the FF in fails to make this title fun or to up drama.

I don’t think I’m going to pick this book up again until I see a different writer’s name on the cover.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. I don’t think you have to wait long. Brian Wood takes over next month I think.
