This is a story I've been eagerly waiting for over a year to read, not this particular one shot per say, since it was only solicited three months ago, but a Peter David penned Layla Miller kicking ass, knowing stuff, and taking names.
This special picks up with Layla imprisoned in a dystopian future where she uses her dues ex machina powers to escape her captors, meet new allies and one old "very old, cyborg enhanced" former leader of the x-men. In anybody else's hands Layla's powers would cripple the story but Peter David turns them into a reason for the reader to empathize with her. The story reaches its climax with the opening shots of the Summer's Rebellion and leaves Layla in the dark about something for once: how she's going to get back home.
Prior to X-Factor #1 I never thought I'd say "I want to buy a Layla Miller series", after reading this one-shot it would be on the top of my pile every time it shipped!
