On the recap page for this comic, Peter David begs people not to spoil it on the internet.  While I question the arrogance of this plea (and the idea of spoiling as some kind of ethical breach), I’ll honor his wishes in this case because I do feel that the description of what happened in this comic would not do it justice.  I will say, however, that it’s incredibly well-written, and also incredibly horrifying.  If you jumped ship awhile ago but are interested in how the Siryn baby plot wraps up, I definitely encourage you to come back into the fold with this issue.  Peter David has some considerable chutzpah, and I believe him when he says the next two issues are going to be equally well-crafted.  X-Factor is getting back in shape, and back to form, even if that path is a grim one.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good

Comments

  1. Is it possible to jump on with this issue?

  2. @coltrane.  I think it’s a possiblity espcially if you know the characters. Even if you don’t, I’m fairly sure that this issue will blow you away. It’s worth the money and it’ll probably make you wanna go back and grab the first couple trades.  This is how good it used to be. Thank God, it’s on its way back to the top. (if this issue didn’t already put it there.)

  3. @coltrane What Anson said.  If you don’t know the characters, it might be a bit tricky, but if you have some knowledge of Jamie Madrox and Siryn and their backgrounds/powers, you should be able to get something out of it.  If you read this and like it, though, I definitely encourage you to go back and get the first few trades of the series, which were amazing.

  4. I was about to drop this book – but now – the character is back in the writing and I have faith again
