This issue is yet another great comic delivered by Peter David. This issue would serve as a great jumping on point, but warning to the reader, it would be wise(as well as really rewarding) to read the trade paperbacks as you begin this series. There is such rich character development it will enhance the experience. The story in this issue revolves around Rayne, her unborn child, and Shatter Star. Once reading the series the characters are so well defined there will be no problem getting up to speed about each member. That is good writing!!!

The first two pages of the story are a great primer for the ride. The reveal is not shocking in the sense of today’s over the top creations, but it cares much more weight in the hands of such a skilled writer. This is the type of series I like to talk about when I say comics can be relevant literature.

The art work for this story fit, and hopefully Paul Davidson will improve over time in his career. He has a strong distinct style, but can improve his story telling techniques, anatomy and composition.

Any one whom are extremely religious may be offended by the subject matter.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 3 - Good
