Apart from the look of The Thing, I was really put off by the art in this issue.  I thought it was the pencils, but when a couple of the pages were in black and white, I saw that the pencils and inks were actually beautiful, and that it’s the colorist who muddled the look for the main story in this issue.  The story itself is vintage David X-Factor.  If you like the often easy humor, and smart plots, you’ll love this issue.  If you don’t, you won’t.

The art on the second story  has cartoonishly exaggerated faces which I think do well to support the storyline here.

It was also cool that they reprinted the first issue of the Madrox mini that relaunched X-Factor.  I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed that story.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 3 - Good
