I don’t read this title regularly and jumped on because I’d been hearing good things and I held joyous hope for a good book centering around my favorite character. My optimism was quickly shattered in this issue and by the time I finished it, I was just sad and disappointed. There were moments when the exposition was too heavy, moments when the dialogue was cheesecake, moments when the art looked inconsistent and too few moments where everything came together.

So again, I came to the realization that Wonder Woman isn’t a book I will be reading for a while. I’m sure in a while I’ll get brave enough to try again. Hopefully it will be different. I know it’s often been stated that Wonder Woman generally works better as a secondary or backup character in larger works–and that may be true, but I’d love an ongoing book that shows that doesn’t have to be a fact.
