If this book was giving off Vertigo vibes in the first issue, now we’re getting into the megaGaimans. Gods walking among mortals. Family drama, with the apparent prospect of Daddy Issues coming down the pipe for Wonder Woman. As per Vertigo tradition, we’re in for a gradual build on this story — so to those who are wringing their hands about Diana’s new parentage, let’s wait to see what Brian Azzarello has to say.

In the meantime, feast your eyes on more smooth and stylish Cliff Chiang art. The sequential storytelling in his action scenes continues to amaze. Chiang’s character designs for the Greek gods are simple and effective variations on the wrap-attractive-ladies-in-strips-of-fabric school of fashion design. Hardly a toga in sight.
