My LCS ran out of WW#1 before I could get my hands on it so I snatched up a copy on Comixology and read it on my android phone.

The only Wonder Woman I’ve ever saw was from the animated Justice League show, I always liked her on the team and thought she was a great female character. I was a little reticent of picking this book at first because, well, come on, who likes Wonder Woman as much as Superman or Batman, amongst geeks like me, hey? Well I don’t regret having read this and I’m going to put it on my pull list for #2 cause Azzarelo is one hell of a writer!

The gods are amongst us, or so it seems, playing with mere mortals as if they were nothing or so does prove this villain with brimstone eyes and ebony skin… Then enters Zola, a normal girl whose very life changes when Hermes comes forth in her home and gives her a key, setting her on a path of adventure where she teleports inside Wonder Woman’s bedroom.

Action, horror, heroism, its all there and Azzarelo makes it interesting and actually proves that Wonder Woman can and is a badass heroine!

Cliff Chiang’s art is near perfect, with great panel layouts, sequential action scenes and a shit load of details! This is what Wonder Woman should look like and look interesting without sexualizing her to make her appeal to a mostly male readership!

Highly recommended!
