Why exactly is this book called "Wolverine First Class"? It's only the first issue but it's very apparent that Kitty Pryde is the star of this book. This is a good thing! I feel like this title is going to be written off as a book for little kids. Maybe it is! Who cares! What we get in this book is a young Kitty Pryde fresh at Xavier's and grumpy Wolverine. Let the banter begin. This to me feels like the X-Men that I love. I love the X-Factor and X-Men of the 80's and to me this feels very much in that spirit. Early in the issue you have all of the X-Men playing volleyball and using their powers. It's X-Men we all know. Angel is there. Storm is there. Nightcrawler. In this issue we have Kitty and Logan being sent to investigate a small town and search out a young mutant. This is what I love X-Men doing. I love when they reach out and try to help other mutants who are going through early teen mutant angst. It's simple. This book isn't for everyone. It feels more like "Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane" or "X-Men First Class" than it does any of the other X-titles. However, if you're looking for something a little silly and a lot of fun then check it out.
