Now that we’re finally through the first arc, this book has really turned into something extraordinary! If you liked Brubaker’s first 42 issues of Captain America, you will love this! Michael Lark really complements Brubaker’s script with dark tones and shadows while still maintaining the clarity of the scene. Story wise, from the opening page to the cliffhanger ending, I was in awe of the espionage feel of the book that Bruibaker is known for in his early Cap issues. If you were to read WS #6 after CA #42 (or 619 for that matter) it would feel like the same series.
Personally, I wish they hadn’t renumbered (again) and kept WS, CA and CA &….,, as one series. Marketing! If anyone jumped off ship due to Fear Itself or the Gulag or whatever mediocre written Cap book, this is the issue you should check out.

Story: 5 - Excellent
