I can tell Brubacker is building to his finale on this book. The story is climaxing and the dialogue that accompanies it is fantastic. Lines like, “aw hell Jasper, stupid kid,” got my blood pumping. The accompanying panels by Guice with spot on colors for tone by Epting are where this book really shines. Each time Bucky says, “Damn it,” the panels with that line shook me. Then we’re taken on a trip down memory lane in flashback scenes through Buckys memory as he works through his boiling emotion by laying into a punching bag. There are surprises and the blood flows as the tension continues to build. Brubacker is taking us all on a wonderful journey of espionage and intrigue and he and his supporting storytellers are doing it masterfully.
