Allow me to begin by saying that I had high hopes for this book. I didn’t recognize the name of the writer or the artist, but this is a book I’ve been hoping for ever since the end of Civil War and the Death of Captain America. So, my anticipation for this title might’ve soured my opinion of it.

This is a horrible book. Okay, well, it’s not horrible, but it’s terrible. The only thing they should’ve kept in this book was Iron Man’s letter to Steve. In fact, this book would’ve worked 100x better if it was almost all prose, and was just Tony Stark writing a passionate letter to one of his best friends, sometimes teammates and sometimes enemies, Steve Rogers. Everything else they decided to include — garbage. No one was acting in character, I don’t understand what the deal was with the Watcher, and it never felt like something that really would’ve happened.

Oh, and the Runaways/YA back-up? I’m a huge fan of the Runaways and Young Avengers, but this was probably the worst part of the book. Apparently there’s going to be more of these, as well. I can only hope they’re from different creative teams.

Story: 1 - Poor
Art: 2 - Average
