Event Fatigue is a term being thrown around alot lately, with Civil War, World War Hulk, and Infinite Crisis to name a few. But honestly, if your a comic book fan then wouldn't events be a good things. But I understand to some that event fatigue came from some of those events not being very good, or not delivering on all their promises. But there is a new event that premiered this following week, the highly anticipated SECRET INVASION, written by Brain Michael Bendis. Now this one starts off fast and furious with great reveals and plenty of jaw dropping moments of disbelief. When I read I rarely make noises aloud, but I used 4-5 expletives during the reading of this issue. The issue reads at an incredibly quick pace. I don't want to spoil much more, but I would give this issue a shot, especially if you read any major marvel book. Let me focus on the artwork for a moment, Lenil Yu's pencils are fantastic in this issue, it doesn’t seem as hurried as it does in New Avengers. Probably because there is a different colorist and an actual inker. It seems that as soon as Lenil is done with his previous agreements with Bendis, he will be snatched up by another creator much like McNiven, Finch, and other artist were. I can't judge this event yet, obviously because it just started. But judging just the first issue, it gets me wanting to buy the next issue right now! And even the spin offs. So as an issue #1 it is a near perfect start to an epic story. (That I hope to God doesn’t turn out badly)
