Best issue in a while and it feels like the first one that Bunn’s been able to write without having to clean up the mess that he was left with. One of the things i loved about the first trade’s worth of issues of Venom was the way Remender was able to connect Flash’s back story with his bonding to the symbiote. That got left behind quickly in pursuit of mini-events, guest stars, and occult nonsense. Now that another crossover is over and Flash is moving to Philly, Bunn might actually have a chance to tell a few of his own stories. This was a character issue that also linked Flash’s psychological flaws back to the symbiote appearing (hopefully!) more often. And what the symbiote is up to is sad, sick, and creepy. Bad for Flash, friends, and family, but great for this reader.

  1. Not a fan of this series, I just feel like there isn’t really much to get invested in.
