This issue was weird…not good wierd, just “i kinda have a headache now” kinda weird. This issue just didn’t do anything for me and reminded me why i usually avoid these types of spin-off books.

We have Venom running through the Savageland on a mission when he encounters Kraven and has to deal with being the hunted. We see Venom battling against the clock of keeping the suit on too long while worrying about getting back home to Betty and finishing the mission.

The story was told mostly through narration, that was odd to read. Choppy sentence fragments that were awkward and difficult to follow…it might have given me a headache. I think Remender was trying to convey a fragmented/distracted mind…like the symbiote slowly taking over or something…i dunno, it was just annoying to read and kept me out of it from the 1st page.

I didn’t enjoy this issue as much as i did the first issue and .1. Very disappointed for this one…i think they can do better. I’ll give it another issue at least, but this series is close to being one of those that i forget to pick up when i go to the store.

The art was solid for what it was, but neither here nor there for me.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 3 - Good

  1. I didn’t understand the hype after issue #1.  I am glad I decided not to pick this up…
