Holy Cow! What a terrific beginning to what admittedly will be the biggist comic event of 2009. I was absolutely sucked in to this story from the very beginning. The only draw back was my ignorance to so much of the DC universe. I never read Final Crisis because every DC fan that I know fans told me not to bother. So I only have a limited knowledge of those that died during it. I really don't know who was buried in a majority of the graves, but what I can tell you is this. Everything that appeared to be stable or given in the Green Lantern storyline has just been flipped on its head. That 2 page spread with all of the Black Lanterns...breathtaking. Scar ripping the heart of a guardian out with her bare hands...incredible. Seeing the, what appears to be, demise of Hawman and Hawkgirl by their undead friends...unbelievable. These Black Lanterns have no morals. Just an insatiable desire to consume everything. It's the only ring that can claim you when you're dead. Therefore, this is going to be an exceptionally difficult battle for the Green Lantern Corps to win. By the time this is over, I think many more characters will have died and fans will be left drooling wondering what the hell just happened.
