Unwritten has been a continually solid series.  The last few issues, however, have left me a little lost, presenting more questions than answers.  While I got a taste of the overall picture of the series in this issue, I find myself still wanting a bit more of the mystery to be revealed.  It would be nice if Mike Carey would take the time to illuminate certain points from the story for me.  I’ve been reading since issue one, but sometimes with monthly issues, it’s nice to get little reminders or details spelled out.  It helps the story remain consistently clear.  That gripe aside, this was a fantastic issue.  The series of events towards the end of the book were pretty awesome, and the reveal about the new Tommy Taylor book was exceptionally surprising and gratifying.  Gross’ art is still excellent, and I can’t imagine this series drawn by any other.  This series continues to be strong.  I just hope that Carey can bring a little bit of light to the darkness of his mystery.
