Wow! From start to finish this book was exciting and I had no idea what was going to happen next. I assumed the worst and I was right to do so. I think that Rick Remender saw Robert Kirkman’s script for The Walking Dead #100 and said, “Oh I can so outdo this.” and in my opinion he does just that. The pacing from the get-go is like the final issue to Dark Angel Saga. I could see this as a live action movie in the future. Phantomex really shines in this issue, as he has since Dark Angel Saga and towards the end it really tugs on your hear strings. Phantomex is a fast healer cause his face is already unbandaged. I couldn’t see anyone, other than Jerome Opena, doing a better job of art than Phil Noto. The fight between Mystique and Phantomex is gorgeous and Quentin Quire’s glasses are funny even though they’re not meant to be and he apparently has the same taste in glasses as Broo. If the next issue is as well written and drawn as this then it’s already got my choice for pick of the week.
