Oh if only this issue could have been 100 pages longer so I could have more of this story.  Remender continues to craft some great comics with this series.  While this issue isn’t action packed, there are some great character moments sprinkled throughout.  The star of the story is Wolverine.  Before you cringe, know that Remender takes the time to dig into Wolverine’s character.  In the Age of Apocalypse, things are a bit different for our hero.  A daughter that he had with Mariko exists.  Jean Grey is still alive as is Sabertooth.  It’s a lot to handle, and the introspective dialogue paints the intrepid hero in a bit more of a human light.  What’s so great about this series is that you never know where the story is going to go, and of course, Remender does a bang up job not only throwing in some surprises but also seeding some serious choices for the team down the road.  I’m excited for where this story is going, and it feels like the stakes are real and that anything can happen.  The momentum that it’s carrying certainly is building to some big things, and I can’t wait to see what happens.  The art is just fine in this issue as well, serving up some nice splash pages as well as some great emotion.  I miss the darker, rougher colors that Dean White was using, but in a different realm, I guess things need to look different.  Overall, the art is great, but I miss a few of the other artists they’ve had on the series, like Opena and Ribic.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
