By all accounts, this isn’t a book I should be reading. I’m not a huge fan of either Wolverine or Hulk, and before this book I had never read an Ultimate series. And let’s not even talk about the three-year gap between issues.

Still, I enjoyed the hell out of this book!

I picked up the first issue (oh, those many years ago) because I couldn’t pass up a comic scribed by LOST-mastermind Damon Lindelof. That first issue impressed me, so I stuck around. But would I still feel the same as I did back then?  Apparently!

Even without going back and digging out the previous issues, I was still able to pick up right where the series left off. I liked the Christopher Nolan-ish story structure, and the art had a dynamic pace that complimented Lindelof’s writing perfectly. No way to get around it, this was a fun comic.

Cheers to you, Damon Lindelof and Leinil Francis Yu. May it not be another three years!
