I don’t know if anyone has noticed but Brian Wood has really turned this ship around. His first issue was a tear down of the previous bureaucratic quagmire this book had become. He ripped the characters out of their comfort zone and has shifted the story to an exciting and dangerous road trip into enemy territory. Kitty Pryde is kicking ass. The art overall is good but the coloring can kind of throw you off with a lot of over-rendering that the clean, expressive linework simple doesn’t need. I’d bump it up a point if they just eased up and focused on story-driven color instead of cheekbone and nose-ridge driven color. This title was a trudge and a slog but now it’s lean, nimble, and careening towards a compelling horizon. Check it out!

Story: 4 - Very Good
