LET’S DO THIS! I think I “got” what’s going on with this series. The Ultimate universe was always supposed to be the “no-rules/continuity-free” version of Marvel’s characters. So whereas in the 616, an “Avengers” team made up of Hawkeye, The Punisher, etc, etc put together to take down Ghost Rider might not make sense, OF COURSE it makes sense for the Ultimate Uni.

So now that we’ve got the “WhatTF” team question answered, we can move on the “WhyTF” does this story matter question. Millar even points it out in his character dialogue. One of the characters asks Fury why put a team together to protect rich goverment dudes. I guess I’m just not used to Millar setting a mystery up. Who is Ghost Rider, what does he want, what’s up with Hellstrom? Y’know shit like that. Millar usually sets the scene and then there are lots of explosions and fights. This mini just confuses the hell out of me as to why it’s important and how it will further the overall “Ultimates/Ultimate Avengers” story.

Lenil Yu again turns in solid art, although maybe i just didn’t notice it before, but damn there was a lot of “posturing” by characters in this issue. Kinda turned me off to his storytelling.

Boo-yah.

Story: 3 - Good
