As a fan of the Ultimate universe, this title is a must buy for me. Despite my fandom though I can see a few flaws with this title. What starts as a great issue with brilliant reactions from the punisher and genuine worry for spider-man, ends with a slightly dull twist. As a tie in title, half the story (some would say the better half) is left to be resolved in Ultimate Spider-Man. Instead we are given a twist that was visible half way through the issue and the death of a character that feels like its happened a hundred times over. The New Ultimates remind me of the reason the Ultimate universe has already been re-booted once; Characters that start as new and gritty often end up being dislikable and mired in boring continuity.
