This one’s for all the haters.

You thought that Countdown was a waste of paper?
I can understand where you’re coming from.

You thought that Trinity started off too slowly?
You weren’t alone.

You dropped Trinity and vociferously claim that it ‘sucks’?

Shut your pie hole, quit your whining and read issue 12.  If it doesn’t change your tune then you’re hopeless anyway.

This issue had 1) great action 2) great character moments 3) the best back-up story yet.

The JLA vs. the CSA makes for a great comic all by itself.  The little touches were especially nice – like having the CSA display their trophies, quite like the JLA themselves, of course the CSA trophies are a bit more gruesome.

Superman acting as Batman, with Batman asking Wonder Woman’s advice on how they normally handle him in such situations was great on many levels.  Funny, but also insightful as to the makeup of the personalities involved.

The Ridller backup was tight and could very well have come from any of the main Batman family books.  Interestingly, for a ‘non-continuity’ book, it felt to me like this portion at least would have had no problem sliding into the pre-RIP/Crisis DCU.

I put Trinity at the bottom of my stack this week and only got to it this morning.  Not next week.  Trinity’s climbing on top of the stack and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

  1. A quarter of the way through and is plainly clear that Trinity is ust plain fun. I was laughing my ass off a couple issues back when Bagley started drawing shadows on Superman’s face, and his response to Batman was simply "Hnh". And also the back ups have really found their grove as well. I really like trinity, and I dont have to lie to myself that I need to buy it like i did with countdown.

  2. Countdown was bad enough that not getting my money for Trinity is the proper punishment for DC, no matter how above mediocre it may be.
