We all know covers don’t exactly tell you what is going to happen inside all the time. Knowning this however I have to say:

Why tease Batroc if he doesn’t show up!?

Anyways, getting that out of my system, we have yet another solid issue of Thunderbolts here. We have a new team being forged on one side, and on the other we have the new teammate Satana guiding the original team to a haunted castle. It’s what you’d expect in either situation quite honestly. We get some snappy banter back and forth during the picking process back at the prision. (I do like it that Shocker is a serious canidate, always loved him) While some wacky stuff is happening at the castle the team is fighting at. If you thought Kev Walker’s art looked a hell of a lot like Mike Mignola then you’re going to do some more double takes this time. The page where we see the castle for the first time just screams Mignola and so does the various poses Walker puts Satana in. Even Parker goes the extra mile to add some magical elements that could only come from the mind of Mignola (before hand).

Overall it’s a pretty good issue as always and I’m excited to see what the roster for the new team is. There are some characters I have never heard of before so it’ll be interesting to see what Jeff Parker has in store for the future. As long as Kev Walker is the artist though, we all know the art will continue to delight month after month.
