The iFanboys frequently mention how much they like issues that center around getting a team together.  Personally, I’d rather start with action, and then slowly get to know the characters.  You know, like in real life.  You meet someone in a bar or at that charity golf tournament you’re so proud to be a part of, and some lady comes up and spits in the guy’s face and says “Deborah says ‘fuck you!'”  NOW I want to know what that guy did to Deborah and spit lady.  I don’t want some stranger telling me all about his life problems on the tee, and mentioning his problems with Deborah, and how her best friend always waits at the fourth hole to spit at him and shout obscenities.

What I’m saying is, this issue was never meant to be for me.  But the series might be.  I’m intrigued by the character roster, but would have much rather started out with some event other than Gathering The Team.

Comments

  1. I had a feeling this issue was going to be mediocre.

  2. aaaaand that initial feeling just went out the door when I read it.  I’ve never read anything Thunderbolts -wise with the exception of the Deadpool tie-ins.  But I had some serious adult fun with this.  So, FUCK YOUR REVIEW!!!;)
