I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews for this…..and before people start sending me bombs in my mail let me explain why I think this was a ‘good’ issue. It’s not great, or fantastic, but it’s certainly better then average.

Diggle certainly isnt the first choice I would have for Deadpool; but for some reason he has stepped up his game, somewhat….I laughed quite a bit in this issue; Wilson shooting himself to get rid of Ant-Man or singing Bon Jovi….it’s a cheap laugh but it’s still a laugh. Plus I was actually surprised Osborn was somewhat of a factor in this finale issue. Considering how he disappeared pretty much the last 3 issues of this crossover I would think Way is going to have a contfrontation with Osborn later. Also, it’s pretty gutsy again for Diggle to show how irrelevent this Thunderbolts team is. This is the second straight issue where Deadpool, or someone else mentions how pathetic or useless this team is. That’s either ballsy for Diggle or he isnt happy on writing this series…..althought his isnt the time for hypotheticals. Overall though this was a pretty medicore action packed issue. The ending also didnt make much sense, even if it kinda proves someone loves a certain merc…it doesnt make sense how Wilson got out of his predictiment.

With the art…..what can I say? I like Bong Dazo’s art. He lays out some good action scenes and I like his panel layouts overall. He certainly has to deal with a lot of frantic pacing so it helps to have an artist who can draw as well he can do layouts. Although it isnt perfect….I hate his depiction of Wilson without the costume. It looks like he just has boils all over his body, not terrible scars. Sometimes his character models for the Thunderbolts is very off model; especially the character Ghost. Overall I think Bong Dazo is a fine enough artist and I would love to see him try another book in the future….maybe (god forbid) if Medina leaves the self titled series?

So what has this trade accomplished? Well the whole point of this crossover was for Deadpool to get money from Osborn….certainly there is an ending to this plot but this went in a whole other direction. I think the actual Deadpool issues with Way/Medina were 1,000x better then these Thunderbolts issues. Two things I know will happen after this story:

A) I will never buy Thunderbolts again

B) This issue was good, but no where near the quality it should’ve been.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good
