Can somebody tell me why I'm supposed to care about this comic? The cast has been completely replaced by new characters who have a little bit of personality, I guess, but no reason for me to be invested in their fates. Osborn's scheme to have Box pose as Green Goblin and attack him is kind of clever, but not really *that* clever. It mostly just serves to make everybody, including the President, look like idiots. And I'm not sure what Doc Samson is doing here at all.
Andy Diggle seems like a talented writer, and de La Torre's art is competent if not really my thing. But the whole premise of this book seems to be conceptually flawed, when there's no reason to care if the team succeeds or not. Diggle might realize that, since he gives us one panel of former team leader Songbird, but unless I'm convinced that the book is going to be about 'Songbird gets her team back' rather than 'a bunch of jerks running around doing jerky things because Osborn wants them to', I've got no interest in reading it.
Oh, also, there's a 'Deadpool' crossover coming up. Dropped.
Art: 3 - Good
Tsk Tsk….Dropping a title when Deadpool is coming up? Minus 100 points. 🙂
Oh and Doc Samson is there because he’s been trying to get Osborn out of power since Ennis’s run on Thunderbolts.
If it’s not Fabian, it’s not Deadpool!
And yeah, I’ve been reading Tbolts for the last couple years, I just couldn’t figure out what they were doing with Samson in this particular issue. I just think that what was ‘Thunderbolts’ has become ‘Dark Avengers’ (which I love), andt his book has no reason to keep existing.
*this book. Damn lack of comment editing.
@caroline: I am surprised this title is still going, or at least with Osborn in it. I mean he’s too busy to care about this team! Probably after the Deadpool crossover he might leave the book….but he should be worried about HAMMER or his Avengers instead of Thunderbolts.
Yeah, I didn’t have enough money to buy this and the other four books I pulled, so I dropped this. Looks like it was a good decision.
