For me, “The Twelve” has been everything you could want in a Golden-Age-characters-fish-out-of-water story: exceptionally good, fun to read, and succinct (I don’t have to buy a bunch of offshoot books that dilute the story like a similar series that will remain nameless). And I’ve gone into “The Twelve” withdrawl since JMS and company took a long break. At times, I feared this would never be completed. So it was with great excitement that I read this first, and it did not disappoint. In fact, it delighted me. I want to go dig up all the previous issues and re-read them again too. Everything was great – art, story, characterization… a solid 5/5 on all fronts. Well worth the agonizing wait, with more yet to come. If this plays out as well as it has so far, this will make one hell of a TPB. And all this for $2.99! Most likely my POTW, but I have a lot of books to go yet.
