I wouldn’t say I’m and expert on the character, but I did pick up a Showcase of his a couple years ago and loved it, so I was psyched to see that he would have his own book.

This was an origin story, I never knew his origin, and part of me wanted to look back to see if it was a new telling, but I finaly decided it is better to judge this book own it’s own merits regardless of the old issues. Personally I found it pretty light and silly, (like the original), but not nearly as enjoyable or intreging. Unlike the original, it focused almost entirely on the PS, not on the people’s lives who he encounters — it was different and I didn’t like it much. It also didn’t have Jim Apraro’s stellar art like the originals either — maybe that is what I liked so much. Anyway, I didn’t like this much, but I got it ’cause I love the character.

I may see what Didio does with #1… we’ll see.
