This is a tough series to read monthly, only because Brian Wood is packing it with dense characterization and intricate plotting. Perhaps not in its favor is that these are all plainclothes people in a dark, watery future, and I tend to lose track of who's who from month to month. This might be a more cogent read in a collection, but I'm so excited about this premise that it's hard not to tune in to get a microburst of that high concept excitement.
