This issue features the stellar painted art of vet Kevin Nowlan, but also Steve Gerber's increasingly chaotic story. I think I understood what was happening through parts of this, but the giant brain-celery that attacked Man Thing kinda confused me. I'm glad this series was only three issues, because if I was going to get bored/distracted, I'd rather it was in a short enough span of time to stick with the miniseries to get all of that delicious Nowlan art. Maybe one needed to have read the original story this was based on, to get all the avenues it visited. Did I mention Kevin Nowlan?
