This comic looks really cool but suffers from a poor script. The visual story telling is out of this world — evidenced by the opening sequence, the silent opening sequence. The rest of the book is an over scripted and over written. I love the Flash, love Grodd, but, man, there is just too much story going on for my tastes. I can’t seem to drop the title, but I can’t seem to get into the stories either.

  1. Good to see Grodd again. This was a little light on action, but it wasn’t rushed at all. It really set up the history of Gorilla City and I think made seem less ludacris. One thing that concerns me is Hartley Rathaway, Pied Piper. He’s conviced he needs to fill the void left by Flash even though Central City has a growing anti-vigilante movement, and his boyfriend the Police Director is afraid step out of the closet. It seems like right now it would a smaller shock to Central City than say 10-15 years ago. I know it’s still contraversial for the LGBT people to come out, and I’m enjoying how all the subplots are progressing, it just seems like both of them are not thinking things through.

  2. @ Denver Dave. I get the same feeling for this book. It’s like when I get a coney dog anywhere else (I’m from metro Detroit) I bite into it and it’s just not tasty.
