this collects what was already published in Dark Horse Presents.

I LIKE this.
• Miller’s cover is great.
• The premise is rich and full of promise.
• The execution in #0 is great.

But it’s the next few issues that will make or break this title.

The art is “simple” but completely appropriate for the more human–less cape tone of the story.

The writing is standout. Arcudi deftly creates a genuine mystery…why did this kid kill himself? What’s the connection with his friend’s suicide 2 months ago? Why didn’t Oxel’s client tell him the old man was crazy?

A change of pace–kind of the like the reason I’m enjoying the Massive right now.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good

Comments

  1. Dark Horse has been doing some great stuff right now. This was excellent and so is Mind Mgmt, The Massive, Ragemoor, etc.

  2. I enjoyed the series as well, a good mystery, and art. I thought it had sort of a pulpy feel, which I enjoyed.
