Though Giuseppe Camuncoli isn’t my favorite of the revolving Spider-Man artists, he does a better job of drawing Peter Parker than I recall from past issues he’s done. When I first heard that Dan Slott was going to write a Lizard story I moaned because a villain being in a comic story during the time of a movie release has kinda become a cliche. However this story is more dark than I suspect the movie will be. From the last arc I learned that Spider-Man can be a biased jerk whenever one of his villains are around. For a genius he’s very quick to jump to conclusions automatically assume the worst is going on. I did like the conversation between Peter & MJ about Peter’s dumb rule about no one dying while he’s around and also Peter being uncomfortable about Carlie and MJ sorta forming a Spider-Man’s ex-girlfriends fraternity. The highlight from this issue is the fight scenes between Lizard, Spider-Man and Morbius. The only thing that would’ve made this better is if it was drawn by Chris Bachalo seeing as this is sorta the follow up of the Shed story arc, but he’s busy so I get it.

  1. Solid review. I also like Camuncoli’s take on the look of lizard, as showcased on the cover. It’s the handling of Petes relationships that really make this book relatable and fun to read. I do believe that the ex-girlfriends are creating a sorority though (unless there something we don’t know about Peter’s past…)
